MAKE A DIFFERENT CHOICE IF YOU WANT A DIFFERENT OUTCOME
Sometimes we make choices but are they really helpful ?A man once told me how he desperately wanted to go to the US . He said going there would give him a better life .
I asked him what was wrong now
“It’s my parents. They don’t understand me “
“Sure “I said , “and if you create distance how will it improve their understanding of you ?”
Sometimes our solutions are antithetical to our very goals.
A man who would constantly beat his wife declared that he did so because he feared she would leave him little realizing that his very act was pushing her away.
What appears to be a quick fix is a fixation with what we are used to doing . It’s like if we drive a car and reach an intersection we may take a right turn till we reach the next intersection and take another right and so on never realizing that we are just going in circles and have never explored another way .
Like they say ‘make a different choice if you want a different outcome !’
